Miura-kaigan Kawazu Cherry Blossom Festival

Free

Kawazu-zakura, the particular variety of sakura that proliferates around Miura-kaigan on the Kanagawa Prefecture coast, flower earlier than most other varieties of cherry, so they should be in full bloom in late February.

Tip: This tour will take you to Miurakaigan and back from Tokyo with a stop in Yokohama.

What happens?

More than 1,000 Kawazu-sakura line the road from Miura-kaigan station to Komatsugaike Park.

Note: The festival dates are subject to change depending on the flowering situation. February 5 is the official start date of the 2024 festival but check the official website for the current blooming status.

How to get there

The cherry blossom festival has easy access via train on the Keikyu Line. It’s only a 10-minute walk from Miurakaigan Station and takes 1 hour and 30 minutes from Shimbashi Station in Tokyo.

Pro tip: Get a Keikyu discount ticket and explore more of the peninsula for less.

Organizers may cancel events, alter schedules, or change admission requirements without notice. Always check official sites before heading to an event.
