Gundam Factory Yokohama

Fans of Gundam listen up, the Gundam Factory Yokohama is closing at the end of March (2024). If you want to see this life-sized moving Gundam, you’d better head on down to Yokohama quick smart. Originally opened in 2020, the Gundam Factory celebrated the franchise’s 40th anniversary. At the Gundam Lab exhibition, you can learn about the construction of the Gundam. There’s also a café and merchandise shop too.
If you miss it, you can always check out the Unicorn Gundam in Odaiba instead. Just keep in mind that this one doesn’t move.
The Little Prince Museum

The only Little Prince Museum in the world will close its doors this year. This museum in Hakone opened in 1999, as part of a worldwide celebration of the author Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s centennial. It features European gardens, a French townscape, and exhibitions about Saint-Exupéry’s life. Sadly though, decreased visitors due to the COVID-19 pandemic has forced them to make the decison to close. The building has also become a little run down and hard to maintain.
If you want to visit before it closes, the museum is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day except for Wednesday. Tickets cost ¥1,600 for adults, or ¥1,400 if you buy it online.
TeamLab Planets

Part of the TeamLab universe, Planets enjoyed its fair share of hype. In fact, it was so popular that it’s closure was delayed until the end of 2023. Meaning, you still have time.
If you plan to visit, we recommend you grab your tickets in advance. They cost ¥3,200 for adults and can be purchased online. TeamLab Planets is open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekends.
