Slow ecolab is a café and community space set up by the founders of Ekolokal, a community to encourage eco-friendly lifestyles and waste reduction.
There is a zero-waste corner of the café with items for sale by weight. Bring your own container and pay only for what you take.
The café has an excellent vegan menu, espresso coffees (from ¥350), lemonade, lemon ginger ale, matcha, and craft beer.
The afternoon café menu includes things like cinammon rolls for ¥500, banana bread for ¥400, and rich chocolate cake for ¥580. In the evening there are options like marinara pizza for ¥1,300 and dried bean curry with sourdough bread for ¥800.
Founders Nori and Hélène want the café to become a community hub for zero-waste lifestyles and business. There are regular meet-ups, and the owners encourage events in the space.
For those looking for a place to quietly get some remote work done, Nori and Hélène welcome anyone to come and plug in their laptop and spend a few hours at Slow ecolab.
The books aren’t just for decoration either.
