Ryogoku is home to the National Sumo Arena (the Kokugikan) in which three major sumo tournaments are held each year.

The sumo theme continues in the surrounding neighbourhood with a large number of restaurants serving the sumo wrestler’s traditional favourite ‘Chanko Nabe’ – a hot pot of meat, tofu and vegetables.

You can get there via Ryogoku station on the JR Sobu Line and the Toei Oedo Line.
