Head into central Tokyo’s Nihonbashi district for a packed, eclectic sakura experience. The festival is also called “Sakura Fes Nihonbashi”. Although the area isn’t quite as packed with cherry trees as some other parts of town, it more than makes up for this with the astonishing variety of cherry blossom-themed installations.
What happens?
Major local landmarks the Mitsui Building and Coredo Muromachi are illuminated at night, while the street leading to Fukutoku Shrine features a cherry blossom noren (fabric divider) avenue. There are also food stalls featuring gourmet snacks of all kinds, art exhibitions, and music.
For all the blossoms, see our Best Cherry Blossoms Spots in Tokyo Mega Guide.
Organizers may cancel events, alter schedules, or change admission requirements without notice. Always check official sites before heading to an event.
